Ảnh hưởng của thức ăn và độ mặn đến sự thành thục của tôm đất Metapenaeus ensis (De Haan, 1844) bố mẹ

Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện nhằm đánh giá ảnh hưởng của thức ăn và độ mặn đến tỷ lệ thành thục của tôm đất bố mẹ. Thí nghiệm 1 được bố trí với các nghiệm thức thức ăn khác nhau (NT1: 100% giun nhiều tơ; NT2: 50% giun nhiều tơ + 50% nhuyễn thể; NT3: 50% giun nhiều tơ + 50% giáp xác; NT4: 100% nhuyễn thể; NT5: 100% giáp xác; NT6: 50% nhuyễn thể + 50% giáp xác; NT7: 40% giun nhiều tơ + 30% nhuyễn thể + 30% giáp xác) ở 32-33‰.

Nghiên cứu ứng dụng bơm nhiệt để sưởi ấm cho bể nuôi tôm hùm thương phẩm trên cạn

Bài viết sau đây giới thiệu chọn phương án thiết kế, chế tạo hệ thống bơm nhiệt điều hòa nhiệt độ cho bể nuôi tôm hùm thương phẩm trên cạn. Kết quả cho thấy với tổng thể tích các bể nuôi là 195 m³, máy nén lạnh cho bơm nhiệt cần công suất 7,5 kW, dàn nóng dạng ống xoắn có diện tích bề mặt trao đổi nhiệt 3,6 m² được chế tạo từ thép Inox-316L.

Đánh giá chất lượng cảm quan và một số chủng vi khuẩn gây thối cá ngừ chù nguyên liệu bảo quản bằng Oligochitin kết hợp với nước đá

Growth and survival in nursery rearing phase of the Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer, Bloch) under different stocking densities in floating net cages

This study was conducted to study the effect of stocking density on growth and survival of seabass, Lates calcarifer in floating net cages in closed bay, Bapatla, Andhra Pardesh, India. Triplicate groups of seabass with an average initial weight of 1.29±0.12 g were randomly stocked in floating net cages (1m×1m×2m) at 20, 40, 60 and 80 fish/m3designated as SD20, SD40, SD60 and SD80 respectively. Seabass in the cages were fed with 45% CP formulated diet at 10% of body weight twice daily. Sampling was done weekly.

Emerging animal protein source to replace fish meal in the diets of nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fry

A 60 days feeding trial was performed to assess the potential use of shrimp head meal (SHM) as complete replacement of fish meal (FM) in commercial diets of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fry.Quadruple groups were fed each of five isonitrogenous (40%) diets were formulated to contain graded levels of SHM at 0% (control diet, T1), 25% (T2), 50% (T3), 75% (T4) and 100% (T5), respectively.

Effect of microsporidian parasite Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP)on pond profitability in farmed pacific white leg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

In recent years, a number of diseases have been negatively effecting on shrimp aquaculture. More recently, Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP), a microsporidian parasite causes Hepatopancreatic Microsporidiosis (HPM) to be associated with white feces syndrome (WFS) and slow (retarded or stunted) growth in farmed L. vannamei (pacific white leg shrimp) in many of the shrimp growing countries in Asia, also in India. Numerous studies revealed that the pathogen causing significant economic losses to the shrimp industry. So, to evaluate the economical importance of this parasite on pond profitability, five (5) farm pond production effected by both EHP and white feces syndrome were compared with five (5) normally performed shrimp population with biosecured environment by adopting best management practices (BMPs).

Storage stability of artificial dry fish bait

Processing of seafood generates a huge quantity of wastes that are often diverted to fish meal production. Long line and trap fishing require live bait everyday to capture fishes. Small squids, sardines and trash fishes are generally used as live baits. Availability of live baits during all seasons and even the cost factor hinder the fishing quite often. As an alternative, development of “artificial dry bait” is gaining importance in recent years. In this study, artificial dry baits are prepared using tuna red meat discarded as waste by the tuna processing plant along with a suitable natural binder by single screw extrusion. The stability of the artificial bait in seawater was studied examine suitability as a bait.

Study of fish diversity in Vaitarna river of Wada taluka of Palghar district in Maharashtra, India

Study of biodiversity has become very essential for scientific data banking as unexpected abrupt climatic changes occurring regularly. This is mainly due to unchecked anthropogenic activities happening in the name of development. Riverine fishery is livelihood of many and also fish diversity of any region has great significance in environmental assessment of that region. The present research work was carried out to assess the fish diversity at Vaitarna River flowing in Wada Taluka region of Palghar district in Maharashtra. For the present study river water analysis of six villages and its fish diversity was accounted in context to the developments in the area such as industries, warehouses, etc.

First record of anophthalmic large scaled terapon, Terapon theraps Cuvier 1829 in trawl landings from versova, Mumbai, India

Anophthalmia is recorded for the first time in Terapont heraps. The specimen was caught by trawl net at Versova, northwest coast of India. Mature female Terapont heraps weighing 58.78 gm and 13.06 cm total length. Comparison of anophthalmic specimen with a normal specimen could not show significant variation in morphometric and meristic traits and the deformity may be congenital which has not affected growth and physiology of fish.

Antibacterial activity of fresh garlic juice against vibrio sp. Isolated from shrimp farm water: An in vitro study

Antibacterial activity of garlic was investigated on inhibition of Vibiro sp. isolated from shrimp farm water samples by well diffusion method. 100%, 50%, 25%, 10%, 5% of Fresh garlic juices were prepared from 100g garlic bulbs. Results indicated that the isolated Vibrio sp. showed different levels of sensitivity to different concentrations fresh garlic juice. The zone of inhibition of the bacterial growth increased with increasing concentration of fresh garlic juice. The results revealed that fresh garlic juice was effective against the test organism.

Economic appraisal is standard practice in public-sector investment decisions in many countries, as well as in international development finance and overseas development assistance. It provides support to decision makers to help ensure the appropriate use of available resources, and to assess the options available for meeting objectives, by assessing costs, benefits and performance against other decision criteria. Nghiên cứu một số đặc điểm bệnh u nang bã đậu trong ruột cá chép do bào tử sợi gây ra tại Hải Dương

Hải Dương là một tỉnh có diện tích nuôi trồng thủy sản nước ngọt phát triển nhất ở các tỉnh phía Bắc, Việt Nam, trong đó cá chép là đối tượng được nuôi ngày càng nhiều. Tuy nhiên, trong những năm gần đây, dịch bệnh liên tục xảy ra trên đối tượng cá nuôi này, gây nhiều thiệt hại cho người nuôi, điển hình là bệnh u nang bã đậu ở ruột do bào tử sợi gây ra. Bài báo này cung cấp thông tin về đặc điểm bệnh học trên cơ sở điều tra 212 hộ nuôi cá với 257 ao nuôi tại 4 huyện trong tỉnh. Mẫu cá bệnh được thu thập, mổ khám và phân tích để xác định đặc điểm, triệu chứng bệnh, bệnh tích đại thể và vi thể bào nang.

Khảo sát tỷ lệ nhiễm và phân tích gen SSU RRNA của vi bào tử trùng gây bệnh trên tôm nuôi nước lợ

Tổng số 238 mẫu tôm, trong đó có 52 mẫu tôm giống (post-larva) và 186 mẫu tôm thương phẩm đã được thu thập từ các ao nuôi tôm nghi mắc bệnh do vi bào tử trùng tại ba tỉnh Ninh Thuận, Kiên Giang và Bạc Liêu để sử dụng trong nghiên cứu này. Áp dụng phương pháp PCR với cặp mồi đặc hiệu EHP-510F/ EHP-510R để xác định tỷ lệ nhiễm vi bào tử trùng EHP từ số lượng mẫu nêu trên. Kết quả PCR cho thấy tỷ lệ tôm bị nhiễm bệnh ở 3 tỉnh Ninh Thuận, Kiên Giang và Bạc Liêu.

A study on soldier cap disorder in penaeus vannamei from culture ponds of Andhra Pradesh, India

Pacific white shrimp, Penaeus vannamei is the most extensively farmed crustacean species in the world as well India.In India, Andhra Pradesh state is occupying first place in culture production of vannamei shrimp. In recent years, P. vannamei faming in Andhra Pradesh is being encountered with multiple diseases such as running mortality syndrome (RMS), white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), white faeces/ white gut syndrome and severe retarded growth due a microsporedian, Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) infection causing catastrophic influence on economy. Besides these diseases, cultured P. vannamei in Andhra Pradesh is being affected with soldier cap disorder with a clinical symptom of carapace folding out from the gill region at both sides, leading to moulting problem and poor growth rate in shrimp.

Prevalence of parasitic infestations in the freshwater fish, channa punctatus (Bloch) from Rajshahi Metropolitan, Bangladesh

Channa punctatus is one of the most delicious and demandable freshwater fishes of the country because of its high nutritional value, cheap cost and availability in the local markets. These fishes are often infected by parasites, which decrease the rate of growth as well as the reproduction rate of the host fishes, resulting in deteriorating the food value of fishes and economic loss to the culturists. Study of parasites is therefore an urgent necessity today. The prevalence of parasites in Channa punctatus was studied from different regions of Rajshahi Metropolis during July 2013 to April 2014. A total of 368 parasites were collected from the skin, gill, fin, intestine and stomach of 74 host species from 102 experimental fishes.

Fabrication and performance evaluation of improvised solar drier for preservation of fish

A study was carried out to compare the change in various quality parameters of Bombay duck (Harpadon nehereus) fish under conventional sun drying and improvised solar drying method using concentrating solar (CS) technology during storage at room temperature under aerobic packaging conditions in Sunderban area of West Bengal. The results of the current study revealed that there were no significant differences in the various quality parameters of dried fish samples in both the drying methods.

Observations on catch composition of conventional estuarine set bag nets (CESBN) Operated in Hoogly - Matlah Estuary, West Bengal, India

Preliminary studies on conventional estuarine set bag net (CESBN) were carried out during 2016-17 to know the current catch composition. The set bag net is locally fabricated fixed net, normally operated in estuarine region during winter season. The fishing trials were carried out in day time with soaking period of six hours excluding time of setting and hauling. Total of twenty cruises were made for the entire period of study. Results revealed that locally rigged set bag net with 20mm bar mesh size at cod end landed average catch composition of 23.15 kg/haul.

Induction of spontaneous captive spawning, embryonic development and larval rearing in Mystus cavasius

We report induction of spontaneous spawning in Mystus cavasius in glass aquaria provided with water hyacinth for egg attachment. The brooders (20 to 25g) were injected intramuscularly with Ovatide™ at the rate of 0.2 millilitre/Kilogram body weight and introduced into the spawning tanks in the evening. Maximum spawning response was obtained when two pairs of brooders were housed in one tank.

Enhancement of growth, immunity, resistance and survival of freshwater prawn, macrobrachium rosenbergii against white muscle disease (WMD) due to dietary administration of probiotic and biogut

The effect of oral administration of probiotic, biogut on growth, survival, and immuno response and disease resistance against white muscle disease was examined in freshwater prawn, M. rosenbergii. Biogut was administered to prawn through the diet at 1%, 1.5% and 2.0% body weight/day for a period of 90-day in recirculatary rearing system. The prawns were sampled on 90 day and challenged with white muscle disease virus, which is highly potential disease to prawn through injection route at 50 μl / juvenile.
